What information I collect

I collect personal information in the following ways:

  • Contact form submissions — When you fill out the contact form on this site, I collect your name, email address, and any message you include.
  • Course registration — If you register for a Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) course through Eventbrite, Eventbrite collects your name, email, and payment information directly. Please refer to Eventbrite’s own privacy policy for how they handle this information.
  • Cookies and site analytics — This site may use cookies to understand how visitors use it. You’ll see a cookie consent banner when you visit, where you can choose what to accept.
  • Email newsletter — If you subscribe to receive emails from me, I collect your name and email address for that purpose only, with your explicit consent.

Why I collect this information

I use the information above to:

  • Respond to your inquiries submitted through the contact form
  • Register you for MSC courses and communicate course details
  • Send you emails you’ve explicitly opted in to receive (in compliance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation, CASL)
  • Improve this website based on general visitor patterns

I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

How I store and protect your information

Your information is stored securely through this website’s hosting provider (Hostinger) and any third-party tools I use (such as Eventbrite for course registration, and my email provider for newsletter communications). I take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

How long I keep your information

I retain contact form submissions and course registration information only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry, deliver the course you registered for, or fulfill legal/tax recordkeeping obligations, after which it is deleted.

Your rights

Depending on where you’re located, you may have rights under applicable privacy law (such as Canada’s PIPEDA or the EU’s GDPR) to:

  • Request access to the personal information I hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Withdraw consent for email communications at any time (every email includes an unsubscribe link)

This website and its services are not directed at children under 16, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
